How interviewing with Google has changed my life.

“Are you interviewing with any other companies at this time?” Recruiters always ask this question. This one was no different. Usually, I say something along the lines of, “I’m interviewing with multiple companies at various stages…” However, this time I was straightforward.

Getting a job is similar to dating. Studies show that men appear more attractive with other women around them: A process called pre-selection. Of course, it’s not a stretch to assume that the “means of selection” used by humans are also used by companies. Let’s not forget that companies are simply a group of humans working together.

The significance of pre-selection — especially in an era where women are able to work — is that it influences the “means of selection” for a job candidate. Humans may bicker about their distance from animalistic actions and civilized activities. However, this discussion doesn’t change the fact that natural human behavior influences your decisions.

On average, attractive people make more money. I wonder why?
